ATTENDANCE
There is a clear link between high attendance and success in College
We expect students to be in school and on time everyday and we reward students for excellent attendance at school.
Absence
If a child is so unwell that they cannot attend College then parents are asked to report their absence via the Weduc App, alternatively they phone the absence line on 01404 42283 or e-mail the college at absence@honitoncollege.devon.sch.uk. Alternatively you can contact us via the form on our ‘Contact Us’ page before school starts.
The law does not grant parents an automatic right to take their child out of school for holidays during term time. You must apply for permission in advance and permission will only be granted in exceptional circumstances. The school will inform Devon County Council if a student has ten or more half-day sessions of unauthorised absence within a six month period. The Council will then decide whether to issue a penalty notice. The “Absence Request Form” is available to download or can be collected from reception.
