Honiton Community College has been an Academy for over a decade and, in that time, has supported countless students from the local community to achieve their goals and to emerge from their education as rounded individuals who are fully prepared for their future.

Rainbow Flag Award

We are pleased to say that we have completed the Rainbow Flag Award sections for Pastoral Support and Effective Policies. We are working towards the next three sections later this year. Well done to all involved

Honiton Community College awarded £930,000 for complete refurbishment of its Science Block

In April 2018 the College was successful in obtaining a further £930,000 from the CIF to refurbish its oldest Science Block. Work was completed in October 2018. The refurbishment includes a new roof, windows, internal and external doors, ceilings, lighting, flooring, decoration throughout, completely new gas, water and electrical systems along with new laboratory fixtures and fittings.

Continued support for Honiton Community College with £335,000 award from the Condition Improvement Fund

In 2020 the College was successful in securing £335k from the CIF to replace roof coverings on a number of college buildings, in addition to updating guttering, fascias and internal ceilings that had suffered water damage.

Improved facilities at Honiton Community College

In 2014 the College secured £1.61M funding from the Academies Capital Maintenance Fund (ACMF) to build a new Technology and Languages block. The building was completed in June 2015 and provides state of the art classrooms for our students.

In April 2016 the College was awarded £217k by the Education Funding Agency’s Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) to refurbish the English Building. The College was fortunate to be one of only thirteen schools in Devon to be successful in this bidding process. The refurbishment consisted of a replacement roof, new windows, re-decoration throughout, new ceiling finishes, new lighting and new flooring.

In September 2016 the College obtained a further £1.8M from the CIF to replace the old gymnasium building with a state-of-the-art Sports and Fitness building. Work was completed in September 2017 and this new facility is now open to students and staff. The new facilities consist of a gym, four sets of changing rooms, a departmental office, three classrooms, an ICT Suite, dance studio and state of the art fitness suite with cardio and strength and conditioning equipment.
